Etta James, Rest in Peace
January 25, 1938 – January 20, 2012
The world has lost a great talent. Listening to Etta James made me want to own a record player. I wanted to hear the scratch and spinning of her records along with the rawness in her voice. When she sang, she wasn't just singing about love, heartbreak, or dissapointment, she was interpreting the vibrations that those emotions create within us. Letting the the love seep from where ever it is felt (the heart, the soul...) up through her voice and out into our ears, no artificial additives. Her music will forever be one of my absolute favorites.  |
